Midlo Angels Announces Key Appointments to Propel Global Tech Investments

Dallas, Texas — August 2024: Midlo Angels, a leading Texas-based angel investment network, is excited to announce several key leadership appointments across its Board of Governors, Investment Committee and staff. These strategic appointments are aligned with Midlo Angels’ mission to drive impactful investments in tech startups within the DFW area, across the U.S., and globally.

Below are the newly appointed leaders and their short profiles:

Board of Governors:

Tomie Balogun — Chair, Board of Governors

Formerly a non-Executive Director and member of the Board of Governors, Tomie Balogun brings 15 years of experience spanning management consulting, communications, investment advisory and FinTechs. She currently serves as a strategic leader at Twelve LLC; where she focuses on raising venture debt for startups, offering financial advisory to HNIs, providing technical assistance on government development projects.

Hannah Salami— Director, Midlo Book Club | Board Member (Legal)

A legal expert and dedicated community leader, Hannah has been instrumental in guiding Midlo Angels’ legal affairs and is now set to lead the newly launched Midlo Book Club. Licensed both by the Supreme Court of Nigeria and State of Texas, Hannah brings 12 years of experience across Africa and United States. She currently serves as an Assistant Attorney General with the Texas Government.

Dami Ogunsanya— Chair, Investment Committee | Board Member

Damilola Ogunsanya, a distinguished Nigerian American, has over 12 years of experience in accounting, specializing in the management of substantial financial projects for Fortune 300 companies. Dami will serve as Chair of the Investment Committee at Midlo Angels, where she will play a pivotal role in guiding investment strategies and decisions.

Paul Sasaenia Oluwabunmi— Deputy Chair, Investment Committee

Formerly a member of the Investment Committee, Paul Oluwabunmi is an investment banker, former diplomat and investor with a focus on scaling businesses and driving growth in emerging markets. Paul currently serves as Vice President at Citi after a successful career at OPEC.

Abi Odedeyi– Deputy Director, Midlo Book Club

A dynamic leader with a passion for literature and community engagement, Abimbola Odedeyi will assist in spearheading initiatives within the Midlo Book Club.

Regina Jean-Adenola— Director — Real Estate Portfolio | Member, Investment Committee

Regina Jean-Adenola, a real estate investment specialist, will oversee Midlo Angels’ real estate portfolio and contribute to the strategic investment decisions of the committee. Regina is a Mechanical Engineer with over a decade experience leading project for Fortune 500 companies across North America.

Midlo Staff Appointments:

Emmanuel Iwuchukwu— Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Emmanuel is a tech visionary with a strong background in engineering and technology management, tasked with driving Midlo Angels’ tech initiatives.

Abiola Shotonade— Chief Risk Officer/Auditor

A seasoned auditor and risk management expert, Abiola will ensure compliance and mitigate risks within Midlo Angels’ operations.

Omowunmi Okubanjo — Product Lead/Portfolio Manager

With a law background and proven track record in project management and product development, Omowunmi will oversee product strategy and portfolio management at Midlo Angels.

Abdulsalam Yusuf— Investment Analyst [EMEA & APAC]

Abdulsalam Yusuf, an analytical powerhouse with expertise in global markets, will focus on investment opportunities across EMEA and APAC regions.

Azeezat Ayantayo— Investment Analyst [North America & LANTAM]

Azeezat Ayantayo is an emerging talent in investment analysis, dedicated to exploring opportunities across North America and Latin America.

Desire Smith— Analyst (Accounting)

A detail-oriented accounting professional, Desire Smith will support Midlo Angels with financial reporting and analysis.

Nyore Usiaphrerakpor— Manager, Digital Communications

With a strong background in digital marketing and communications, Nyore will lead Midlo Angels’ digital outreach and communication strategies.
